Natalia Resel Rivera #2 (Team Trasimeno) is the winner of the first race of the Women’s European Championship at the Misano World Circuit. The young Spanish rider, who got away from pole, immediately found herself battling rivals Josephine Bruno #80 (Team Gradara) and Patrycja Sowa #14 (Sowa Racing Team), who had been able to get ahead of Rivera when the lights went out.
On lap two, the team Trasimeno rider took the lead and held first place to the line. Finishing 14 seconds ahead, Natalia and Team Trasimeno place first in the championship standings.
Second placed rider Josephine Bruno, competing with team Gradara Corse, also put in a strong performance but was unable to break away despite an aggressive start. Rider Patrycja Sowa rounds out a very positive weekend on the third step of the rostrum.
The chasing group closed much as it did in Saturday's qualifying, with Beatrice Barbera #94 (GP3 AD11) finishing fourth and followed across the line by Arianna Barale #41 (MRT Corse), Nicole Ciccilini #11 (Prata Motorsport) and the Team MotoXracing riders Silvia Comincioli #93 and Denise Dal Zotto #8. Saidatul Zakirah Zairin #88 (GP3 AD11) and Maria Saluste #77 (Motoclub Sinlind) completed today's top ten.
The riders now have time to prepare for the next round, which is set to run on 7-9 June at the Cremona Circuit.
